The big change for Income Tax businesses for next 2015 tax season...

Another tax season is over, we are all relief and glad it is finely over; and they are already new changes that will impact the business for the 2015.

To begin with there are several provisions and proposals attached to the 2015 budget.

What it is going to affect the tax preparation business is the “Correctable error” authority for the IRS.

People in this business know that the TPTIN was stuck down last year with the judgment waiting for appeal in the case of Loving vs. IRS in which 3 tax preparers sued successfully the IRS under the argument that the IRS doesn’t have the authority to regulate tax preparers.

In my opinion the whole argument is ridiculous and absurd, because how in the hell the IRS has authority to regulate the higher tax payers professionals like CPA’s, Lawyers, Enrolled Agents, etc. and then the IRS doesn’t have the authority to regulate the people that work under their supervision? In my opinion it is ridiculous and absurd.

I find it specially ridiculous an absurd after suffering the stress and tension associated with my 2012 year preparation and passing of the 3 tests to become an IRS Enrolled Agent to avoid the yearly PTIN test and a stroke.

This long waited proposal corrective error will clarify that the IRS has the explicit authority to regulate all tax preparers and effectively reverse Loving 2014-I USTC where the court of appeals for the district of Columbia circuit struck down the IRS registered tax return preparer RTRP program.

This proposal would be effective on or after the date of enactment.

So I think if you are a individual that works preparing taxes by yourself, from home and under no
supervision, then this will change your business unless you get the proper designations, or if you join a supervisory company.

Again in my opinion this proposal could make established accounting companies bigger and more competitive, and powerful in relation to small and individual tax preparers.

November the busy month before tax season...


Finally   November is here. This is the month when usually clients start to rush over accounting records and start to get ready for tax season.

In my case I start to get ready for tax season by making sure everything is in place, current tax software, bank products up to date, tax preparers ready, advertisement ready, and this year the new affordable care act or Obamacare in place I have an extra work by helping clients to sign up.

Also, by getting this new Real Estate license made my half year more interesting than usual; I’m glad to share that I passed all 3 college classes required, and I’m ready to take the California state examination, too bad they told me it’ll take about a month and half to schedule it. Now I’ll be forced to keep all the information fresh for the next weeks instead on moving on to the next challenge like I planned.

I’m very excited to share that this coming 2014 tax season that at OREM tax services we’ll have more agents helping us to further our services in different states,

This year I wonder what license are we getting in 2014? Because I obtained all the important licenses we planned and need. I guess it is time to start to get thing easy and just enjoy while networking everywhere we go.

I have the idea of teaching business accounting, tax write offs, on different cities and states. That is a request that I get often when talking to some people all the time.

The tax year is almost gone...so, get ready!

No, my friends and followers, I am not dead yet and I am here to stay, so for the ones that were already celebrating, I tell you I fell great and almost 100% recovered. Thank you for your emails and messages from all over the world. I really appreciate them.
It is November and as we are getting closer and closer to the New Year, I cannot think of a better idea than to start to get ready for Tax season, individuals, companies, individuals with businesses, etc.

Usually I came across people that have a complicated organization system, mainly because they don’t have any, bookkeeping should not be that difficult, it should only record what is important for your tax preparation nothing else.

Some people ask me how to get organize; it is not difficult at all. If you are just starting, you have so many choices nowadays; from the simplest excel spreadsheet to the more elaborated accounting software.

If you are in a small business or thinking to start one, I suggest to record your income and expense with excel every month, and also save your receipts and invoices in order just in case you need to get to it.

However,  if you want to be a bit more organized than that, I suggest getting any of those accounting software at the local electronics store. I have used QuickBooks, Peachtree, and those are not expensive nor difficult to use at all, I remember paying like $80.00 for my very first accounting software, and the cool part of it is that not only you can record all your transactions on it but also you can scan your invoices and attach them into the software, so you always will have access to your invoices and when you are done in the year, it will give you a nice and well organized Financial Statement that will ease a lot your income tax filing, and will keep all  your expenses in track.

What I have discovered as well is the fact that these financial statements also help you to point out the unnecessary expenses so you can avoid them in the future.

So, please do not wait until the last minute to have all your tax forms ready, all your income and expenses ready for the business owners.

This was one of the most thrilling trips I have had in years. Definitely driving 6 hrs to San Francisco was totally worth it, this trip reminded me of how beautiful, exiting “and freezing cold” the Bay Area could be. In day one I had scheduled 2 appointments that turned out to be 4, and I ended up working really late, I was tired but really happy.
The following 3 days went fast, some say “time flies when you’re having fun”, and although most of the time “if not all” I was working, the time spent meeting new people and developing positive relationships for the future was exciting.
